After returning from David & Meijie’s reception in California, I learned from Mrs. T (David’s mother) that the happy couple would come back to Texas for a few days before heading home.
One call to MuMu and it was settled. A ladies luncheon honoring Meijie was clearly in order.
The venue: the beloved tea room where MuMu, Mrs. T and Mrs. H (another lifelong friend and David’s honorary ‘second mom’) regularly entertained.
And when MuMu called Mrs. H, she was so thrilled that she insisted on providing champagne as well as a centerpiece from Gunter’s Greenhouse, *the* local florist of distinction.
Our luncheon was coming together nicely.
Now, how to put together table top decor worthy of the occasion (and on par with Gunter’s flowers) with just three days notice?
Easy. A case and a CASE.
The case took place under cover of dessert. Black tablecloth and napkins, the large rectangular table, champagne flutes available, check.
Then, off to Gunter’s to order a wrist corsage to compliment Mrs. H’s pink flowers.
But what shade of pink?
Ute, Gunter’s head designer, graciously took us to the floral cooler. Seeing the range of blooms from which Gunter’s would select, I knew: Regal Rose and Melon Mambo would be lovely for the table top decor.
As for the CASE, well, tune in tomorrow.
